The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Department of Neurosurgery wanted a better way to help recruit residents into their Neurosurgery residency program.

GOAL

The Neurosurgery residency program is a rigorous but rewarding endeavor. The goal was to present information about the program to prospective applications and help them make an informed decision more easily.

approach

Going into a medical residency program is a major life decision, and many of the current Neurosurgery residents moved to Oklahoma from all over the US and abroad. The best way to find out why people do something is to ask the people who are already doing it. We interviewed current faculty and residents of the program to learn about their backgrounds, motivations, and factors that contributed to their decision to commit to this program. We interwove their experiences into a personable and inviting story about the love they share for the program and the Oklahoma lifestyle. We filmed the interviews and candid b-roll at the OU Health facilities.
